Summer Security Activities
I am hobbled up this summer due to a leg injury and will be unable to do the hiking I usually do.
I teach high school and am thinking about setting up a club for the students where they will learn different aspects of computer security.
Which of the following would be best to focus on for the students for the first year we do this?
System Setup, different services and securing them.
Penetration testing of existing configured machines (is there a cloud setup for this or a cheap remote vm environment, or will we have to set it up ourselves?)
Reverse engineering code or malware
instruction on writing secure code
